Pulaski Street Grille celebrated its grand opening yesterday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony with town officials.
Tom and Leslie Drake opened the doors of their upscale pub-style restaurant in time for Memorial Day, after a months-long, top-to-bottom renovation of the former Doc’s Tavern. The impeccably finished interior is sleek and modern, but comfortable and inviting. It features a fully stocked oak bar with adjacent high-top tables, booth and table seating in the main room. A separate dining room offers table seating for 30.
Serving lunch and dinner daily, the Pulaski Street Grille’s menus offer entrees, salads, sandwiches and burgers, plus a wide assortment of appetizers, homemade desserts and daily specials. Burgers and sandwiches are priced at $11 to $14, while entrees (served with potatoes and salad or soup) run $17 to $26.
The Pulaski Street Grille is a “fresh start” for the veteran restaurateurs — the Drakes operated the Meetinghouse Creek Inn in Aquebogue for more than 25 years.
Supervisor Sean Walter and council members Jodi Giglio and Tim Hubbard joined the Drakes and their staff outside the eatery to ceremonially snip a red satin ribbon. Afterward, they presented the Drakes with a certificate of recognition from the town.
“We know this has been a labor of love. Anything the Town of Riverhead can do to help you in this endeavor, we will do,” Walter said. “We’re so happy you are here.”
