Riverhead Town Police report the arrest yesterday of a Queens man operating a vehicle reported stolen out of Nassau County.

Riverhead Town Police said they received a notification from the Nassau County Police Department Sunday at approximately 3:34 p.m. that a stolen vehicle from Nassau County was entering Riverhead Police jurisdiction.

Riverhead Town Police patrol units located the vehicle, a 2006 Dodge Charger, on Route 58 at approximately 3:43 p.m., police said in a press release. Officers stopped the vehicle on Route 58 near Mill Road and arrested its operator, Bhajenauth Ramsaroop, 26, of Jamaica, Queens, according to the report.

Ramsaroop was charged with one count of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the Third degree, a class D felony, Obstructing Governmental Administration in the Second Degree, class A misdemeanor and numerous vehicle and traffic violations, police said.

Ramsaroop was held overnight for arraignment in Riverhead Justice Court, police said.
