Apple Honda’s 10th annual breast cancer awareness month fundraising campaign for the North Fork Breast Health Coalition raised $7,300 this year, bringing the dealership's total during its annual October fundraisers to $78,942 since 2013.

The North Fork Breast Health Coalition has seen an increase in survivors diagnosed with stage four disease since the COVID pandemic, when people postponed routine screenings. The annual 5K walk raises funds used by the group to assist survivors with direct services, including grants, wigs and prosthetics.

The North Fork Breast Health Coalition raised over $80,000 at its annual Pink Pearl Gala attended by more than 300 guests.

The annual gala will take place at East Wind caterers on April 8. Honorees this year are Keri Stromski, who will posthumously receive the inaugural Medal of Valor and Peconic River Sportsman's Club, which will receive the community spirit award.

The North Fork Breast Health Coalition's 23rd Anniversary “5K Walk for Breast Cancer Awareness” will take place Sunday, Sept. 26 at Tanger Outlets in Riverhead, which sponsors the event. Participants can pre-register on the NFBHC website or register from 7:30-8:45 a.m. that morning. The walk begins at 9 a.m.
