Riverhead girls lacrosse

It was another tough home game for Riverhead as they struggled against a solid Smithtown West defense today.

Riverhead’s girls lacrosse team had its first foray into playoff competition today and came away with a nail-biter victory, defeating Huntington 10-9.

Riverhead finished 12th, just a spot behind the 11th place slot that would have gotten them into the playoffs for the first time in school history.

The Blue Waves dropped a nonleague game in Mattituck March 23.
