Riverhead Town strikes five-year deal with its rank-and-file police union
Riverhead Town and the Riverhead Police union representing rank and file officers have reached a five-year labor deal retroactive to Jan. 1, 2016. The agreement for the first time requires police officers to contribute to the cost of their health insurance coverage.

Riverhead Police Department has its second female sergeant
Riverhead Police Chief David Hegermiller swore in Sgt. Danielle Willsey, the second female sergeant in the department's history at the July 17 town board meeting. The chief also swore in a new patrol cop, Police Officer Matthew Suprina.
