Senior citizens can learn how to avoid falling victim to cyber crimes during a training next week at the Riverhead and Southold senior centers.

The cooling center is located at the town’s Senior and Human Resource Center at 60 Shade Tree Lane in Aquebogue. It is open this afternoon until 4:30 and will be open from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. tomorrow and Wednesday, the town supervisor’s office said in a press release.

Riverhead Town has decided to end congregate meals at its senior center in Aquebogue through the end of the month. Meals on Wheels and curbside service will be provided.

The Peconic Community School connects students with senior citizens to help build bridges between the age groups as the youngsters and the seniors enjoy time with each other.

The 78-year-old choking victim, whose life was saved by a town employee's swift action, grew emotional at a ceremony honoring his rescuer yesterday at Riverhead Town Hall.
