Peconic Avenue and Main Street from Griffing to Union avenues will be closed to traffic today from 3 to 11 p.m. for Alive on 25. The Peconic River will be closed to all boats today through 6 a.m. tomorrow due to tonight's fireworks show.

The Riverhead Highway Department will be repaving Middle Road from Northville Tpk. to Roanoke Ave. and from Osborn Ave. to Mill Rd. Monday and Tuesday. The road will be closed to most traffic in those areas while the project is underway.

Three Riverhead roads will be closed at different times this week due to ongoing maintenance for the Long Island Rail Road, Riverhead Police said in a press release on Monday. 

Reconstruction of the Edwards Avenue and Route 25 intersection in Calverton has stalled due to “additional utility relocation work,” but is expected to resume soon and be finished by the end of the year, a state transportation department spokesperson said.

Update: Main Road in Jamesport has been reopened following the traffic accident earlier today, Riverhead Police said.

A State Department of Transportation contractor will begin drainage and roadway construction on a portion of West Main Street (NY-25) beginning this month and continuing through March.

The Riverhead Highway Department will be paving Sound Road and Creek Road in Wading River Monday-Tuesday this week.

Potholes in the deteriorated pavement along NY-25 in Calverton are being filled, but resurfacing won't take place until 2027, a State DOT spokesperson said. Update on roadwork planned for state roads in town.

LIRR will continue grade crossing rehabilitation work this week in Riverhead: Osborn Avenue April 9 and 11; Ostrander Avenue April 13. Expect road closures and detours.
