Riverhead sophomore Shanice Allen led the Blue Waves to a come-from-behind win over William Floyd today in the final moments of the first round AA tournament game in Riverhead.
Allen scored the final seven points of the game to boost the Waves to a 52-48 victory over the Colonials and advance to round two of the playoffs.
The sixth seeded Waves (14-5) meet defending state champs Sachem East Thursday at Sachem.
“We’re going to go hard, we’re going to go at them, we’re going after that ‘W,'” Allen said of he upcoming game in Sachem.
Allen scored 18 points in the match against Floyd, and had 11 steals in the game.
“We just couldn’t lose on our home court,” she said after the game.
