Riverhead’s UPS Store on Route 58 has permanently closed, according to a note taped on the store’s front entrance.
The store, located at 865 Old Country Road, is “no longer open for business,” according to the letter, “effective immediately.”
“We sincerely regret the inconvenience this has caused you,” the letter reads.
In addition to shipping and packaging, Riverhead’s UPS Store offered a variety of additional services including mailboxes, printing and copying services, notary services, passport photos, and shredding.
Mail-receiving customers were contacted by the store, according to the letter, and should reach out to the United State Postal Service for information regarding their mail.
Following the closing of Riverhead’s UPS Store location, the nearest UPS store locations are on Montauk Highway in Hampton Bays, Montauk Highway in Shirley and Hill Street in Southampton.
Customers may still drop off pre-packaged and pre-labeled shipments at Riverhead UPS drop-off locations, including Staples, Michaels and Advance Auto Parts, all located on Route 58.
Staples also offers a full-service UPS counter, which offers pack-and-ship services that are unavailable at drop-off points.
