A first-place entry by Zilnicki Farms in Riverhead at the 2022 Country Fair. RiverheadLOCAL/ Denise Civiletti

Updated: Oct. 10, 1:55 p.m.– With an impending coastal storm in the forecast Sunday, fair organizers decided to call the Riverhead Country Fair off this year. See story.

The Riverhead Country Fair takes place Sunday in downtown Riverhead.

The fair, now in its 49th year, will feature vendors, food and beverages, live music, displays of the award-winning produce, home-made treats and quilts, as well as tractors and farm equipment.

There are some changes this year to accommodate the construction downtown. The homemaking contest entries will be on display in the town square instead of on the grounds of the East End Arts Council.

Vendors and exhibits will otherwise be on Main Street and in the Peconic Riverfront parking lot.

The fair runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 12, rain or shine.  Free admission.

East Main Street will be closed from Roanoke Avenue to East Avenue from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday Peconic Riverfront parking lot will also be closed. There will be no parking in that lot for the duration of the event.
