Community turns out for a perfect Paddy’s Day parade
The New York City Police Department Emerald Society Pipes and Drums marched in the Jamesport parade this year to honor two fallen brethren, Det. Brian Simonsen and retired Chief of Detectives Jack Cuddy. The pipe band stopped for a special tribute — "Amazing Grace" — at Jamesport Cemetery, where Simonsen, a Jamesport native, is buried. New 9/11 ceremony to be held in Jamesport this year on Sept. 15
A ceremony honoring the victims and heroes of Sept. 11, 2001, as well as Jamesport-area veterans, is being planned this year by the Greater Jamesport Civic Association and the East End Emerald Society.
