The Suffolk County Police Department is the highest-paid county police department in New York State, and eighth in the state among all county, town and village police departments, according to a report released today.

Nassau and Suffolk county police are the highest-paid local government employees in New York State, according to an Empire Center report released Dec. 9. The top five town police departments for average pay were all in Westchester and Rockland counties.
