The Railroad Museum of Long Island today unveiled a marker at the site of a horrific train crash in Calverton on Aug. 13, 1926 that killed six people, including two young children.

Letter: I never heard about this train wreck so the article was very interesting to me. I agree — there should be some sort of memorial at the site.

The Railroad Museum of Long Island wants to mark the Calverton site where a 1926 express train wreck killed six and destroyed the Golden Pickle Works in Calverton.
