The A 51,547-square-foot retail center on Middle Country Road across from Fresh Pond Avenue is being developed under pre-master plan zoning pursuant to the settlement of a years-long legal battle between the town and a sand mine operator.

Michael Cholowsky and his Calverton company Sky Materials were indicted yesterday on charges of insurance fraud stemming from an investigation into a construction site fatality last spring.
