With Calverton Aviation & Technology set to hold a public forum on its plans for the Calverton Enterprise Park Wednesday evening at the Hotel Indigo in Riverhead, we thought this a good time to provide a timeline of milestones in the history of the deal, now in its seventh year.
Calverton Aviation & Technology was first introduced to the public in December 2017, when Luminati Aerospace announced it would partner with Triple Five Ventures Co. to purchase and redevelop the Enterprise Park at Calverton.
Riverhead Town had signed a letter of intent with Luminati Aerospace in April 2017. In that document, the town agreed to sell most of its remaining acreage at the enterprise park — the former Northrop-Grumman plant — to Luminati Aerospace for $40 million, subject to the negotiation of a “definitive agreement” between the parties.
Below are links, presented in chronological order, to articles reporting on major events relating to the proposed sale to Calverton Aviation & Technology, a joint venture of a Triple Five subsidiary and Luminati Aerospace. Also included are a videos of: CAT’s presentation at a March 7, 2018 Riverhead Chamber of Commerce event where Triple Five chairman Nader Ghermezian and other CAT representatives discussed the proposed development at EPCAL; and CAT’s presentation to the Riverhead Industrial Development Agency at its Sept. 21, 2022 meeting.
