Police pursuit

A Riverhead Town Police officer was seriously injured in an accident on Osborn Avenue Tuesday afternoon as the officer responded to assist in the pursuit of a vehicle wanted for an incident in Southold Town. The officer was transported by ambulance to Peconic Bay Medical Center and then flown to Stony Brook University Hospital.

A short police pursuit in downtown Riverhead ended in a three-car crash at the intersection of Northville Turnpike and Elton Street Friday afternoon, injuring the drivers of the other two vehicles.
