Tropical Storm Alex formed in the Atlantic early Sunday morning. Before developing into a tropical storm (winds of 39-74 mph), Alex dumped more than 10 inches of rain on south Florida, causing major urban flooding. Alex is the first of 14-21 named storms anticipated in the 2022 Atlantic hurricane season.
