Southampton Town Police said a 24-year-old Calverton man, who was a passenger in a vehicle on Route 104 in Flanders died from injuries sustained in a single-vehicle crash Tuesday evening.

A 24-year-old man suffered a head wound in a machete attack by another man on Pine Street in Riverside Friday afternoon, police said. The attacker was arrested late that night after a standoff with police and is being held on $50,000 bail.

A man threw a large stone through the front window of Hampton Deli in Flanders at about 2 a.m. on Feb. 23, then stole cigarettes and beer before fleeing the area on foot, police said.

A Flanders man was charged with DWI following a crash at the intersection of County Road 105 and Flanders Road last night.

A 35-year-old man drowned after his kayak overturned in Wildwood Lake late yesterday afternoon, Southampton Town Police said. An 8-year-old boy with him in the kayak was rescued by another boater who witnessed the incident, Southampton Town Police said.
